IT’S NOT COMPLICATED

God had a plan that was so important to Him that it had been hidden and protected for ages and generations. He had kept it secret for centuries in order to reveal it in the fullness of time—or in other words, at exactly the right time. Guess what? We are living in the time of the revealed plan. The mystery has been revealed, so why don’t we get it? Why is the mystery still a mystery to so many?

The mystery is Christ in us!

Colossians 1:26-27 tells us, “The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Many believers don’t really understand this mystery of Christ in us, let alone any hope of glory. “Christ in you, the hope of glory” sounds good, but what is it? It’s a fair question, yes?

The glory of God is something tangible; it is something that you can see; glory is visible!

As you study glory in Scripture, it has magnificence, splendor, majesty, and greatness in its meaning, according to the dictionary and according to the original languages of both the Hebrew and the Greek. The glory of God refers to God’s presence that is revealed, manifested, and seen.

This is different from us giving glory to God. Giving glory to God is always a response to the glory of Christ in us.

The glory of God is tangible because of the presence of God. It is never because of us. It’s not our glory! But it is about the glory that is in us. It is always from the Spirit into the physical. It is always from the inside out. It is about the glory of who is in us and looking for a way to shine through us! The life in Christ in us is way bigger and much greater than we think. The apostle Paul writes about this in his second letter to the believers in Corinth:

But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.

Therefore, since we have such hope, we have great boldness of speech—unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.
